Hey there, lovely readers! Candi here, and it occurred to me that we've never really had a proper chat about who I am. So, buckle up for a joyride through the amusing, charming, and sometimes downright awkward facets of yours truly.

The Name Game

Candi, Not Candida

Let's address the elephant in the room—my name. Nope, it's not Candi as in "candy store." My birth certificate proudly proclaims Candida. Now, imagine having that paired with a last name like Vajana—cue the cringe. So, I did what any sane person would: I shortened it to Candi. Because let's face it, Candida Vajana doesn't roll off the tongue; it stumbles. And yes, I've heard all the yeast infection jokes; thank you for your originality.

The Cher Effect

Now, let's clear the air—it's not just about the name. I'm rocking the Cher and Madonna vibe here; last names are so last season. Candi and Vajana—try saying that three times fast without giggling. So, like the icons before me, it's just Candi; no last name required. Great minds, or should I say names, think alike!

Roots and Wanderlust

The Experienced Nanny's Sicilian Roots

So, where did this concoction of awkwardness and humor originate? Sicily, my friends. Yup, my dad's Sicilian and my mum's rocking the British vibe. I spent some months soaking up the Sicilian sun before my journey took me on a Northern Italian detour. Then, there was a brief stint in the South of Italy, a hop to Turkey, and back to Italy. My passport's seen more action than a globetrotting spy.

From Pizza to High Tea

The Experienced Nanny's school days? Italian-style. High school finale? Cue the British invasion—I took an entrance exam for a UK college during my last year. Post-high school, off I went to the UK for Nanny School. We'll save the details on that rollercoaster for another day.

Sibling Shenanigans

The Middle Child Struggle

Oh yes, I'm the middle child. If you know me, you probably guessed it. The classic case of middle child syndrome? The jury's still out on that one, but it might explain my penchant for mischief.

Love, Marriage, and California Dreaming

Love Across Oceans

Now, let's talk love. I'm happily hitched to a wonderful Italian bloke. He's put up with my antics, including disappearing acts as I nannied around the globe. And yes, we speak Italian at home—romance language goals, anyone?

California Dreamin'

We've been soaking up the Californian sunshine for almost a decade now. Who would've thought a Sicilian gal and her Italian beau would end up sipping lattes in the land of surf and stars? Life's funny that way.

Guilty Pleasures and Linguistic Adventures

Tea Time Confessions

Confession time—I'm a tea enthusiast. PG Tips is my cup of joy. There's just something magical about a good brew, right? Oh, and my other guilty pleasure? European chocolate. UK's Cadbury Milk Chocolate, to be precise. None of that fancy stuff; I like my chocolate simple. And here's a bonus confession—another guilty pleasure of mine is watching Eastenders.

Spelling and Language Shenanigans

I'm a stickler for English spelling; call me old-fashioned. And when it comes to languages, I'm the jack (or should I say Jill?) of all trades. Fluent in Italian and English, a dabbler in Spanish and French, a few words in Turkish and, Arabic, and German? Well, let's say it eludes me like a mischievous cat.

So, there you have it—Candi in all her quirky glory. If there's anything else you're dying to know about me, drop a comment below. Until then, keep it sweet, keep it silly, and stay tuned for more tales from this whimsical journey called life!

I would love to hear something quirky about YOU!
